“DADA Pig Man” Solar Etch Print

1.Creative work

1. Firstly, I photocopy one of my collages from some magazine and mixed media works like printing image in internet onto an acetate (A6 size image), and I tried finding their common & similarly point, and then I connected these collages making them like Dadaism‘s work which in my mind means antiartism, antisocialism, antiwarism and creating them reflecting crazy antihuman mental mirror.

2. In addition, I scanned my image and experiment with sejngs in Photoshop first before prin;ng onto acetate which make sure it will have satisfying result, and I used Photoshop make it be a black & white copy and printed it on an A6 paper.

2.Transfer onto solar plate using UV light box

There are some thing I should attention it:

• 3 mins aqua;nt screen ;

• 3 mins image (it is a reverse prin;ng process – so make sure your acetate is reversed!);

• 10 mins exposing plate in tepid water;

• 3 mins ‘hardening’ plate.

3.Prepare for Etching

1. I let flowing water cooling reinforcement and using painting brush cleaning the layout to prepare for printing, and Back and forth with the brush to bring the surface into full contact with water.

2. And I used hair dryer drying completely for protect layout from damage by water or other chemicals for storage and multiple use in the future.

3. Before next step, I prepared two paper by soaking it in water and storing under bloNers/newsprint to become damp. This will allow the ink to be easily released when it is put through the etching press, as the paper is forced into the etched ‘grooves’.

4. I brushed completely black pigment on the layout mirror and it's important for making a right result to do not adding too many pigment which will have big possibility damage the image, and then I used scrim rub surface of plate especially these extra pigment and fingerprints which too much or too liNle ink can result in ruined prints and damage the image during the printing step and I added a further wipe with ;ssue paper for dry under boards, and I also used ink with a rag to made the ink has fallen into every indent I have made.

4.PrintingThis is central step, and there is a printing layer device diagram.

1. I folded the absorbent paper into two parts which size should bigger than the paper that for printing image on the Press Bed, and I put paper on the absorbent paper.

2. And I used the small drawing paper (that size is bout 3 square centimetre for control easily and protect image do not damage by my finger, because my finger had many pigment) put Inked Plate up the middle area of the paper up the absorbent paper, and also I put carefully the Paper that for printing image on the Inked Plate on the inked plate by small drawing paper. (the paper's position up the inked plate should cover the another paper under the inked plate)

3. Besides, I put Blankets up the Paper for protect printing image, and I controlled rollers' hight litter lower than these paper's hight, and I rolled the whole paper and I uncovered the blanket and paper, and then I noticed the image printed on the paper.

5.Waiting for Sketch Paper Dryingit is important for protect the image do not damaged, because the paper still was wet.

• In the end, I used same small drawing paper carefully lifted up the paper and I put it in another the middle of two absorbent paper, and I just need waiting one night for drying the paper and the printing step was finished.

6. My Oponion

I found the printing If you prefer you can scan your image & experiment with sejngs in Photoshop first before prin;ng onto acetate.
